Bonjour les amis! 🇫🇷 (Hello Friends!)
Our centre recently applied to become accepted into the Early Learning Languages Australia (ELLA) program, our application was approved and our Preschool children will be taking part in French lessons for 2020. This will be a great addition to our prep for school program.
Learning another language helps develop essential areas of a child's brain. It assists children to think more creatively, connect ideas, build connections between English and in our case French, strengthen memory for sequence, concentration and solve problems more easily. Children automatically compare and contrast the system of the new language they are learning with English, which gives them an insight to how English works, which can accelerate their literacy skills.
We look forward to implementing this exciting opportunity at Imaginations and we think the teachers and our children are going to have a lot of fun along the way!
Au revoir! 🇫🇷

Goulburn Toddler Room

Welcome to the Toddler Room, our environment is for children aged from 2 years old to 3 years old.

There is so much growth during the toddler age, in both body and mind. You will begin to notice more physical development, the need to try and run, hop and climb. You'll also hear more mimicking of sounds and attempts at more communication with themselves, family and peers.

Toddlers will be encouraged to become more independent through the day to day routine, this is something they often strive for too. Learning to use utensils for self -feeding, putting on their own sunscreen, trying to put their shoes and even showing interest in toilet training. Our toddlers are given plenty of opportunities and time to achieve their own goals.

There are activities and learning opportunities for educators to role model social play within their peer group to help toddlers with their social development. There are a lot of big feelings that they start to feel at this age and social opportunities can allow for emotional development to grow too.

There is a strong focus on literacy through songs, stories and the arts in the day to day routine. The more opportunities toddlers have to listen and engage with literacy rich experiences, will assist with their desire to start verbally communicating their needs and interests as well as with those around them.
